There are a lot of residential homes in the Boardman area that are in great condition, but have very old and outdated electrical systems.

Does your breaker box look like the one shown below? If so, you might have a box that is so old, that it does not meet code, or worse yet, a box which is a dangerous hazard to your home that could result in a fire!

We specialize in upgrading old residential electrical systems. Call us for a free estimate. Let us change out your old box and meter and replace it with new equipment which meets current code, allowing you to feel secure knowing that your wiring is safe.

BEFORE: Old Wadsworth box

The resident complained about hearing a loud ZAP sound on occassion and the smell of ozone afterword. The problem was that water was leaking from the main entry into the breaker box. This particular box actually had a breaker that started to smoke when we arrived and started to upgrade the service. The equipment was 50 years old and the wiring was out of date and did not meet the current code.

Also, the resident's father had made some modifications to the wiring in the home in the past, resulting in a very cluttered wiring scheme. In fact, the main breaker did NOT shut off the electricity in the entire house!

AFTER: New Cutler-Hammer box

The new box with the GFCI receptacle. Seperate lines for the 240V range and the 240V air conditioning circuit were added to the existing wiring scheme. We changed out the meter, main line/entry, mounted a new board against the wall. The actual job only took 2-3 hours.
